Welcome to mach 1 raceway
Mach 1 Raceway opened in October 2019. We are a small family run business offering a family friendly environment. We have a retail store with a variety of slot cars and parts and five slot car race tracks (2 ovals, 2 Road Courses and a 1,000 ft scale Drag Strip). Our racing program includes classes from novice to pro racers. Those new to slot car racing can rent a car, controller and track time for fun and before you know it, you will be hooked.

BJ CARTER
An Army veteran from Appomattox, BJ wanted to bring something fun and family oriented to his hometown. BJ shared his love for slot car racing with his daughter and now they race and run Mach 1 Raceway together.

CATHERINE CARTER
Daughter to BJ Carter, Catherine has been racing slot cars for over 5 years now, is a World and National Champion in Wing Cars and the first female in the state of Virginia to win a championship in H&R Hardbody, that we know of. Catherine is the race director at the Raceway and enjoys helping newcomers.
