Crate Late Model 2026 Rules
Chassis:
  • 4” Brass or Nickel plated chassis that is or was commercially produced.
    • NO bending or cutting of Chassis
    • May float rear bushings holes max .015
    • Must use 1/8 x 1/4 bushings or oilites only NO bearings allowed. May solder or glue bushings
  • Chassis must clear .030 under the entire Chassis with guide flag off tech block.
  • Any guide flag, wires and nuts
Motor:
  • JK Hawk 25 long shaft motor only
    • NO tampering or alterations allowed
    • Shaft on pinion side can be trimmed for clearance ONLY
    • May use motor screws, Solder or glue to mount
    • ID must be visible
    • Motor must be mounted 90 degrees to axle
Gear / Axles:
  • 48 pitch
    • 9t pinion straight or angled
    • Any rear crown cannot be lighten or trued
  • 1/8 STEEL axle only
    • May be cut to desired length
    • Front axle may be independent with one tire locked
Width / Wheelbase:
  • 3” Front and Rear Axle spacing
    • Front only may have an 1/8” offset measured from axle uprights. NO Rear offset
  • Wheelbase must not exceed 4”
Tires:
  • Hoosier Beadlock and Protrack tires with .500 rim
    • Max rear Dia .910 min rear dia .850
    • Max rear width. 800 min rear width .750
    • Min front Dia .800 Min front width .385
  • May use Mud plugs
Body:
  • Caveman styrene or lexan body ONLY
    • Body may be mounted using velcro, body clips or pins
    • Side panel must measure 1 ¼” from the top of the deck to the bottom of panel
    • Roof height front 3/8” min measured from center of hood to lip of the roof
    • Rear roof height min 7/16” measured from center of deck to the lip of roof
    • Sail panel may be cut-out
    • Front splitter must have a .060 lip
    • Roof must be centered on body
    • Must have 3 numbers and a sponsor. 3D interior painted
Weight:
  • Min 185 grams
  • No body weight
  • Must use lead weight / stick or flat
  • No weight under the chassis
